Question 1

What is MiddleSpot?

Accepted Answer

A journal built around questions. Cards help you start a conversation with someone new. Journals are for the people you know: one question at a time, and neither page opens until both are written. Insights show where the two of you overlap. It is not a dating app, a social network, or a way to find people.

Question 2

Who can read what I write?

Accepted Answer

Only the people you chose. Every page says who can read it, and nothing you wrote reaches anyone else unless you decide it does. The limit is enforced on the server, not only in the app.

Question 3

Does the other person need the app?

Accepted Answer

Not for cards. Open a deck and everyone plays off your phone. A journal is different: the other person needs the app to write in it with you. Being invited is always free.

Question 4

What are insights?

Accepted Answer

A short note on what you and another person have in common, written for you by a model from what you each put down. It only ever says what you share, and never quotes anyone.

Question 5

Is MiddleSpot free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every deck, writing to yourself, one shared journal you start, and every journal you are invited to are free, always. Premium is for starting more shared journals. It also adds four more book covers, with matching app icons.

Question 6

Is there an Android app?

Accepted Answer

Coming soon. It is built to match the iPhone app and will arrive at the same time as the next iPhone release.
